Jodi Elskamp

Jodi is sort of considered our relief technician & receptionist here at Rockford Veterinary Clinic. She works mostly on Saturdays and helps out filling in here and there when needed.

She has had a strong love for animals as long as she can remember which led her to choose a career in the Veterinary field. Jodi attended the University of Minnesota – Waseca and in 1991 graduated with an AAS degree in Veterinary Technology. College is also where she met her husband, Jim.

Jodi rounded out her schooling with an internship at the University of Minnesota’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital and then to a clinic in Minnetonka (Glen Lake Animal Hospital). It was at Glen Lake where she met and first started working with Dr. Barlow. Jodi remained working at Glen Lake until 2000, when she had another calling to be a full time mother to her first son, William. In 2002, Dr. Barlow purchased Rockford Veterinary Clinic at which time Jodi decided to go back to work for him part time. Her family increased in October 2004 with the birth of their second son, Joseph.

Jodi enjoys working at Rockford Veterinary Clinic not only for her wonderful co-workers but in particular for the small closely knit community. People and their pets aren’t just a number or name – you get to know them!

Jodi jokes and likes to say that her house is “Camp Chaos”. Besides having growing boys, they have a “herd” of pets. Two Labs (Elsie & Koda), a few cats (T-Kee, Moo, Vinny, and occasional fosters), a fish tank, two guinea pigs (Rolo & Rodger Dodger), and homing pigeons. A little chaos, yes, and she also drives a school bus part time! Jodi always says if her life wasn’t a zoo, she would be really lost!
